Miscellaneous markings

After 1925, when regular postage stamps and cancellations were used, the sender would mark the item with "Rohrpost" or simply "R". If the proper postage had been paid, it would then be transmitted by the pneumatic system. The next example shows this; date 5 Jan 1949. Note how the "Eilbote" label has been crayoned out; the franking of 120G paying the surface and pneumatic charges but not the express delivery.
